Recap: Union Pines 15 - N. Moore 13

Visiting Union Pines needed a pair of second-half touchdowns and a two-point conversion to escape with a 15-13 win and pin the first lost of the season on the Mustangs.

Union Pines quarterback Ben Bowbliss had a 51-yard rushing touchdown late in the third quarter and he completed a 23-yard fade pass to Dakota Hicks for a score late in the fourth. Hicks also rushed for a two-point conversion after the first score while Sam Parsons connected on his only PAT attempt for Union Pines.

Bowbliss unofficially finished with 98 yards rushing on 14 carries and one fumble. He completed 7 of 17 passes for 51 yards and 2 INT.

North Moore's Tyreek Riddick-Reynolds had touchdown runs of 26 and 5 yards — the latter with just over a minute to play in the game. The Mustangs missed the first of two PATs.

North Moore is 1-1 and has an open week next week. The Mustangs start Yadkin Valley 1A play Sep. 11 with South Stanly in Robbins.

Union Pines is 2-0 and visits Providence Grove next week.
