Sophmore running back Zaythan Hill scored three first-half touchdowns to lead Pinecrest past Purnell Swett 41-17 Friday in Pembroke.
Hill, one of 11 Patriots to carry the ball in the game, had rushing scores of 1, 11 and 6 yards to help Pinecrest build a 28-0 halftime lead. He finished with 32 yards on seven carries.
Quarterback Nik Pry completed 5 of 6 passes for 99 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown to Jaylen Dickerson in the second quarter. Pry also had 8 carries for 27 yards.
Pinecrest special teams had highlights as JT Adams opened the second-half with a 76-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and the Patriots recovered two onside kicks.
Malyke Justice punched the ball into the endzone in the third quarter for the final Patriot score.
Pinecrest (8-1; 2-1) visits Richmond Senior next week. The Raiders crushed Lumberton 55-19 last night. In the third conference game, Scotland beat Hoke County 28-2.
