The Mustangs fall to Abermarle 34-7 in their first game since Hurricane Florence postponed games across NC.

North Moore did its best to overcome a 21-6 halftime lead against E. Montgomery Friday in Biscoe. The Mustangs (1-2) returned the second-half kickoff for a touchdown but missed the point after. After trading touchdowns late in third, the Eagles (1-2) pulled away for good with a pair of field goals in the final frame for the 34-20 win. The Mustangs (1-2) host Trinity (2-0) next week.
Rory Board passed for 246 yards and three touchdowns to lead Union Pines past Providence Grove 34-12 Thursday in Cameron. Board had touchdown strikes of 56, 63 and 9 yards as he completed 14 of 20 passes with no interceptions. He also carried the ball five times for five yards. Tyreek McCoy had 12 carries for 135 yards, including a 78-yards touchdown in the third frame. Ethan McKay connected with David Stem on a 4-yards pass to give the Vikings (2-1) a 21-12 halftime lead. Union Pines accumulated 418 yards of total offense and held the Patriots to 130. The Vikings improve to 2-1 and visit Randleman next week.
